My fears were unfounded. After watching my craft grow exponentially, working with other teams to solve nuanced problems on a large scale, and seeing them through to the finished product, I watched my fears grow with me too. I’m not afraid of getting stale, and not personally growing as an designer any more.
This particular quote stood out to me from Meg's latest article on leading a design team. Her writing style is so personal and honest – I can't get enough.
There's a natural fear associated with doing or creating anything new. People have always told me that when you're no longer uncomfortable, it's time to move on to something new. I think Meg is living in that world right now, and it's fun to watch things unfold for her.
Overcoming fear is one of the surest signs of growth, embrace the fear.
